Department of Surgery

Our past records make us enjoy a good reputation among the public and medical faculty. Apart from the regular out-patient services, Indus Super Speciality Hospital also serves as a tertiary referral centre and provides both specific and general surgical services, thereby contributing to the health care of the local population. When appropriate, we advocate first trying non-surgical management for our patients.

The following services are available at the hospital:

  • Treatment and operations of gastrointestinal tract diseases
  • Laparoscopic surgery (Gall Bladder, Appendix, Hernia)
  • Abdominal wall Hernias and Abdominal plasty
  • Anal Surgeries (Piles, Fissure and Fistula)
  • Ligation (Treatment of Piles without surgery)
  • Surgery of Benign and Malignant Tumors (GIT, Thyroid and Breast)
  • Varicose veins, testicular and other general operations

The Department of General Surgery has been growing better with time in the form of manpower, surgical expertise and infrastructure. It is known for its excellence and is recognised by both patients as well as the medical fraternity. The Department of General Surgery is regarded as the mother of all surgical specialties and continues to hold its own pride of place even in the face of stiff competition from its own “progeny”.

The department has expertise in not only Laparoscopic surgeries but also has expert general surgeons who have included video endoscopic surgery in their armamentarium and have a high level of competence not only in biliary tract surgery but the other allied problems tackled by minimal access surgery methodology

The thrust of the consultants in the department is on the complex abdominal surgery, laparoscopic surgery, thyroid and breast surgery. Oncology surgery is a part of department of surgery and takes up a considerable part of the repertoire. These areas are undergoing a phase of development and shall form the future expansion zones of the surgical fields.

The department is involved in innovation and rapid progress to better performance in the near future.
